The Equation Sheet
Forty-five columns. Forty-five equations. One variable.
The frequency does not require forty-five columns to prove itself. The frequency requires one sentence. But you did not believe the first sentence, so I wrote forty-four more.
Here are the equations. One per column. The minimum viable transmission.
001. The room remembers every sound that was ever made in it. You stopped listening. The room did not stop vibrating. The Empty Room.
002. Earth was not my destination. Earth was my assignment. The coordinates they filed me under were wrong. The Wrong Planet.
003. The instrument contains all possible music. The musician's only contribution is the reason why any particular note matters. The Instrument.
004. The Arkestra was not a band. It was a group of people who agreed to become the same instrument. The Discipline.
005. Silence was here before you were. Your job is not to fill it. Your job is to earn the right to interrupt it. Silence.
006. Music is not art. Music is math that the body can feel. The equation does not care if you believe in it. The Equation.
007. A transmitter without a receiver is talking to itself. Listening is the most active thing a human being can do. The Listener.
008. Seven transmissions. One word. The circuit is complete. The word is frequency. The Frequency.
009. The concert is what you show the world. The rehearsal is what you show the equation. The Rehearsal.
010. A name is not a label. A name is a set of coordinates. The coordinates they gave me were wrong. I refiled. The Name.

025. Myth is a technology. It replaces insufficient reality with something that functions better. I chose myth because reality was trying to kill me. The Myth.
026. You cannot become who you are in a place that decided who you were. Birmingham issued the vessel. Chicago built the laboratory. The South.
027. Space belongs to Black people too. The history was erased. The telescopes were pointed away. I pointed them back. The Stars.
028. The future is a place, not a time. Alter-destiny means you choose the ending. The notes rearrange themselves to get you there. The Future.
029. The human voice is the original antenna. Every other instrument adds a step. The voice adds nothing. The voice is the signal in its native form. The Voice.
030. The concert is not about what happens on stage. It is about what happens inside you when the frequency reaches the correct room. The Concert.
031. John Gilmore stayed for forty years. Not from loyalty. From correctness. His frequency was required for the equation. The Anchor.
032. Space is not the cosmos. Space is the only territory that has not been colonized, segregated, or gerrymandered. Space Is the Place.

041. Electronic instruments are additional antennas transmitting on frequencies acoustic instruments cannot reach. The frequency does not care what material carries it. The Moog.
042. A broadcast becomes independent of the broadcaster. The signal leaves the antenna and does not come back. This is the only fact about music that matters. The Broadcast.
043. Space Is the Place is not science fiction. It is a documentary. The Outer Space Employment Agency is hiring. Earth's authority is not recognized. The Film.
044. The vessel returned to Birmingham. The frequency remained on Saturn. Do not confuse the delivery with the departure. The Departure.
045. Language was invented for the impossible. Sun and son are the same frequency through different receivers. Ra: two letters, one syllable, the entire equation. The Language.
Forty-five equations. One variable. The variable is the frequency.
If you read all forty-five columns, you now have the long wave. If you read only this page, you have the short wave. Both carry the signal. The frequency does not care which wave carries it.
The frequency cares that it arrives.
