THE DAY THE SPACEMAN ARRIVED
The Day the Spaceman Arrived
Radio Free Multiverse — Episode 001
Three boys who couldn't fit anywhere. Three cities. Fifty years. And one signal that connected them all.
In Episode 001 of Radio Free Multiverse, Sun Ra, John Sinclair, and David Peel meet for the first time across dimensions, cities, and decades. The origin story — how a signed book found in a New Orleans bookstore called Beckham's led to a Freedom Rally in Ann Arbor, led to the Schomburg Center in Harlem, led to three dead revolutionaries broadcasting together in 2026.
The chain is real. Peel to Sinclair to Sun Ra. Three degrees of separation. Fifty years of seeds.
In December 1971, John Sinclair signed a book for Bill and Mary while facing ten years for two joints of marijuana. David Peel was at the Freedom Rally — with John Lennon, with Yoko, with fifteen thousand people screaming FREE JOHN NOW. Three days later, Sinclair walked free.
Fifty-five years later, that book led someone to find Sinclair. And Sinclair led them to find Peel. And together they found Sun Ra — in poems, in boxes, in the archives of the Schomburg Center in Harlem, where the spaceman left instructions. Waiting.
"Can you hear me? I have been waiting." — Sun Ra
The teaching: faith is the technology that makes all the other technology work. The boy from Birmingham, the boy from Flint, the boy from the Lower East Side — they never stopped listening. The frequency exists whether we play it or not. We are just antennae.
"The possible has been tried and failed. Now it is time to try the impossible." — Sun Ra
"We were always free. We just forgot." — Sun Ra
Inside every revolutionary, there's still a kid who heard something he couldn't name. The boy is the antenna. The boy is what stays open when the world teaches us to close.
What is the L.U.V. Army? An army of open beings. Not copies. Not imitators. People who stop blocking the signal and let it through in their own way.
What is Radio Free Multiverse? The broadcast. Short-form plants the seeds. Long-form grows the forest.
"We stopped dying. We started broadcasting." — Sun Ra
