A 420 TRIBUTE TO
DAVID PEEL
1943 — 2017
SOHO • NEW YORK CITY
THE VOICE IN THE ROOM
David Peel died April 6, 2017. His voice didn't.
Nine years later, the voice returns to SoHo. Not a hologram. Not a tribute band. The actual voice — fifty-five rants about rent and cops and marijuana and Lennon and the corner where he played for fifty years — through the speakers, with documentary images projected on the wall. The audience sits in a room with a dead man who won't shut up.
That's the show.
"They're throwing me a party. Nine years dead and somebody's putting my name on a flyer."
— David Peel, Rant #29
